Duncan Petersen-Jones is a musician of many instruments, including bagpipes, piano, double bass and guitar. Duncan Has a degree in Music Composition at University of Michigan, with a Bachelor in Music from Michigan State University. He currently plays with Silver Thistle in Austin, but was pipe sergant in the Glen Erin Pipe Band in Lansing, Michigan, and has also played with the Grand Traverse Pipes and Drums, and for Scottish dancing competitions. In the last year, Duncan has started solo competing in pipe band competitions in the US and Canada and has placed several times in competitions.
A personal mission of Duncan's is to provide the best quality of music possible. To help obtain this goal, Duncan practices everyday to make sure his playing is at its peak. Duncan has also written several tunes and is currently compiling them into a book of bagpipe tunes. Several of his tunes have been perform by The Glen Erin Pipeband.
Duncan would be happy to accommodate your requests with a wide repertoire of tunes and styles. He can advise you on the most appropriate music for different occasions, such as weddings, anniversaries, reunions, openings, festivals and funerals.
